Exeter College is seeking a Practical Facilitator for Brick, Maintenance and Carpentry in Barnstaple. You will support practical lessons, prepare materials and manage tools in a busy workshop, helping learners build trades skills and industry knowledge.

For those with suitable experience, a pathway into teaching is available with mentoring and a College-funded Level 3 teaching qualification. The role is on-site, full-time, with opportunities to progress within the Trades department and join a

Qualifications

• Experience in a construction trade such as bricklaying, carpentry, joinery or maintenance.
• Ability to prepare materials and tools for practical sessions and assessments.
• Committed to maintaining a safe, engaging workshop and supporting learners.

Responsabilités

• Preparing materials and resources for practical lessons and assessments.
• Supporting teaching, learning and assessment in the workshop for apprentices and full-time learners.
• Issuing, ordering and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Manufacturing products to support learner assessments, including machinery use.
• Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop environment.
• Supporting learners in developing practical skills and underpinning knowledge.
• Opportunities to teach as part of a supported development programme.
