Job summary

Intact Insurance in Manchester is recruiting for an underwriting support role within Traded SME. You will assist in delivering high-quality underwriting decisions, gathering data, and managing cases to enable efficient trading outcomes.

The role emphasises accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a structured, team-based environment while developing toward independent underwriting responsibility.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in insurance is beneficial but not essential.
• Good customer service skills with a passion for delivering high-quality service to brokers and clients.
• Ability to multi-task and solve a variety of problems.
• A high degree of accuracy with a keen eye for detail.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to work in a structured, team-based environment.
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn and build capability, progressing towards independent underwriting responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of high-quality underwriting decisions within defined authority and referral frameworks.
• Achieve service levels, responsiveness, accuracy, data quality, and support team performance and growth.
• Support underwriting activity: prepare cases, gather data, and manage cases for efficient trading outcomes.
