Join an established commodities trading firm and be in control of improving various processes across the trading operations.
You’re going to be working very closely with trading teams and support functions here, with lots of interaction with the business to understand what works and what doesn’t, so that you can make everything as efficient as possible. Improving processes will be your first job, along with supporting all kinds of changes across the operations team.
Oil, power and natural gas are the primary products traded here and you’ll be joining as a senior member of the team with a huge chance to progress in the future to a management position. Given you’ll be part of improving the operations platform and processes, you’ll be the go-to person in the future for any issues or further changes that need to be made.
A large number of the systems are automated and run in real-time. Most of the team are technically minded and automate various tasks using VBA, SQL and Python. You’ll be no different and you’ll be given a lot of autonomy to make the best decision for automating and optimising processes.
In terms of your experience, you’ll need to have an in-depth understanding of exchange clearing, better yet, experience working at an actual clearing house having cleared ETD.
You’ll be joining a successful firm with a strong history of success in the commodities trading market. Starting salary will be up to £75,000 plus a range of benefits including private medical and dental, life insurance and more. It’s a hybrid work environment, with up to 2 days a week at home if you desire.
