Job summary

STARK Building Materials UK in Walton-on-Thames is recruiting a Counter Sales Supervisor to oversee the Trade Counter and shop floor, delivering exceptional customer service to trade customers and ensuring stock availability.

The role requires product knowledge and stock control expertise, with a Monday–Friday schedule and alternate Saturdays; you’ll work closely with suppliers and colleagues to keep the branch running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in a builders' merchant environment.
• Excellent customer service and product knowledge.
• Ability to manage stock and PON processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the Trade Counter and shop floor, ensuring high standards of customer service and presentation.
• Serve trade customers, process orders and provide knowledgeable advice on building materials, tools and products.
• Take responsibility for stock control, stock checks, replenishment, discrepancies and maintaining accurate stock levels.
• Create and process PONs to ensure stock availability meets demand.
• Monitor deliveries, check quantities and condition and resolve discrepancies.
• Build strong relationships with trade customers and identify sales opportunities.
• Support branch operations and work with colleagues, suppliers and management.
• Ensure Health & Safety, housekeeping and company standards are maintained.
