Job summary

Howdens Joinery is recruiting for a Counter Sales Warehouse Person in Wales. You will be the first point of contact on the trade counter, build relationships with customers, and ensure stock is organised and ready for collection or delivery.

The role blends sales with hands-on warehouse duties to support depot performance in a fast-paced environment. You will process orders, provide quotes, and help drive sales while maintaining stock accuracy and a safe working area.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sales, retail or customer service environment.
• Aimed at driving sales and delivering excellent customer service.
• Confident and friendly communicator who builds strong customer relationships.
• Able to adapt quickly and manage a varied, fast paced workload.
• Clear explanations of products and solutions to trade customers.
• Strong attention to detail and maintaining accurate records.
• Good literacy, numeracy and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Sell the full range of products and services to trade customers.
• Achieve and exceed individual targets while supporting depot performance.
• Process orders, provide pricing and quotations, and manage delivery expectations.
• Generate and follow up on leads to drive sales.
• Support the warehouse to keep the depot running smoothly.
• Maintain a safe and compliant environment in line with health and safety standards.
• Unload and check accuracy of incoming stock deliveries.
• Conduct daily checks on forklift and other equipment.
• Maintain stock security on outgoing orders and deliveries.
• Conduct weekly stock checks.
• Rotate stock and keep the warehouse clean and organised.
• Support deliveries, collections and general warehouse activity.
