Job summary

SIG Roofing is looking for a friendly Trade Counter Assistant to join our busy branch and provide first-class customer service over the counter, by phone, and via email. You will take orders, share product information and quotes with accuracy, and help customers find the right solutions.

In this role you will maximise sales opportunities through up-selling and cross-selling, nurture relationships with key accounts, and coordinate with warehouse and external sales teams to ensure smooth

Qualifications

• Some experience in the construction industry is desirable.
• Ability to engage with customers and build relationships.
• Knowledge of warehousing and yard processes, with occasional product picking and packing.

Trade Counter Sales Assistant at SIG Roofing

We are currently looking to recruit a Trade Counter Assistant who will provide first class customer service to all customers ‘over the counter,’ and undertake sales activity as and when required.

What does the role involve?

As Trade Counter Assistant, you will be the face of SIG and will be required to engage with customers both over the phone and face to face. This is the ideal role for an outgoing and personable candidate who has the confidence to take customer orders and provide key product information to customers visiting our busy Trade Counter.

What you’ll be doing:

• Engaging with customers on the phone, via email, and at the trade counter.
• Accurately processing orders and providing clear, competitive quotes.
• Maximising every sales opportunity, including up-selling and cross-selling.
• Proactively contacting lapsed or prospective customers.
• Maintaining strong relationships with key accounts.
• Collaborating with warehouse and external sales teams to ensure smooth deliveries.
• Actively contributing to a safe, positive working environment.

What you’ll bring:

• Some experience in the construction industry, ideally have some product and sales knowledge
• Ability to engage with customers and build relationships
• Knowledge of warehousing and yard processes, as you will be required to assist from time to time, with picking the correct products and packing orders
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• To be dynamic and motivated
