Job summary

JDP in Fareham is seeking an experienced Trade Counter Sales Person to join our branch. You will serve customers face-to-face, provide knowledgeable advice and drive sales growth in a busy, friendly environment.

You will build relationships with trade and retail customers, handle enquiries by phone, email and in person, and process quotes and orders with a hands-on, practical approach. Training and support are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in trade counter or customer-facing sales.

We're looking for an experienced Trade Counter Sales Person to join our successful Fareham branch.

This is not a role where you'll be hidden behind a desk. You'll be at the heart of the branch, serving customers face-to-face, handling enquiries, driving sales growth and helping to keep the branch running smoothly. What You’ll Be Doing

As one of the key people in our branch, you’ll be:

• Serving trade and retail customers at the counter, providing knowledgeable advice and excellent service.
• Building strong relationships with existing customers and developing new business opportunities.
• Handling customer enquiries by phone, email and in person.
• Processing quotes and orders accurately and efficiently.
• Identifying opportunities to upsell and promote products and branch initiatives.
• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the branch.
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure customers receive outstanding service every time they visit.

You’ll be someone who:

• Enjoys dealing with customers and solving problems.
• Has confidence speaking with tradespeople and contractors in branch and on the phone.
• Understands the importance of product knowledge and customer relationships.
• Is commercially minded and enjoys identifying sales opportunities.
• Takes ownership and works well in a small team.
• Isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and help wherever needed.
