Responsibilities

• Managing and motivating the trade counter team, supporting performance and development.
• Overseeing daily trade counter operations and ensuring excellent customer service.
• Using plumbing and heating product knowledge to advise customers and support the team.
• Driving sales growth, identifying new business opportunities and maximising profitability.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with trade customers and suppliers.
• Managing customer enquiries, quotations, orders and sales transactions.
• Overseeing stock control, replenishment and the organisation of the trade counter.
• Ensuring the counter and surrounding areas are well presented, organised and compliant with health and safety requirements.
• Monitoring sales performance and supporting the achievement of branch targets.
• Working closely with the wider branch team to ensure operational efficiency.

Simon Acres Recruitment is working with a well-established and successful plumbing and heating merchant to recruit an experienced Trade Counter Manager for their team in Berkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual to take ownership of a trade counter operation, lead by example and help drive sales while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

The Role

As Trade Counter Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the trade counter, ensuring the team delivers an efficient, knowledgeable and professional service to customers. You'll play a key role in developing customer relationships, maximising sales opportunities and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Your responsibilities will include:
