A leading global environmental consultancy is seeking a skilled Town Planner to join their Planning and Environment Team. The role involves managing EIA and non-EIA planning applications within a collaborative setting. Following its recent acquisition by SLR, Wardell Armstrong now forms part of a leading global environmental and sustainability consultancy working on projects across the world from over 100 offices. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Town Planner to join our team. We are flexible on experience and welcome candidates at all stages of their career, including Junior to Senior (typically 2 to 5 years’ experience), and Principal to Associate Director (typically 8 to 15 years’ experience) level.
We have a well-established Planning and Environment Team based in multiple UK offices, handling a diverse range of projects including renewable energy, waste, industrial, mineral, commercial, and major infrastructure. We offer hybrid and flexible working in friendly environments.
This role is suited for a talented, highly collaborative Planning Consultant who enjoys taking responsibility and leading projects. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, the role requires an excellent eye for detail in reviewing and approving submissions of EIA and non-EIA planning applications. Experience with EIA projects, Developments of National Significance, and Development Consent Order schemes would be advantageous. Experience with plan promotion, appeals, and public inquiries is also desirable, depending on the candidate’s experience and career stage.
Project work will be varied, covering Wales, the Southwest, and other regions across the UK.
