Yolk Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an experienced Toolmaker for an injection moulding operation in Tredegar, South Wales. This permanent, days-based role offers varied technical work and ownership of tooling repairs within a busy manufacturing environment.

You'll join an experienced engineering team, share knowledge with apprentices, and benefit from a stable, non-rotating shift pattern with an early finish on Fridays and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Recognised Toolmaking apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience maintaining, repairing and modifying precision tooling, ideally in plastic injection moulding.
• Strong manual machining and precision fitting skills from drawings.
• Experience stripping, inspecting and rebuilding mould tools and understanding components.
• Ability to diagnose tooling faults and propose practical solutions.
• Willingness to work with production and engineering teams as priorities shift.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing faults with injection mould tools, identifying root causes of tooling failures.
• Stripping, inspecting, repairing and rebuilding mould tools and components.
• Using manual machining and precision fitting equipment to repair and modify tools.
• Collaborating with Production, Maintenance and Engineering to address tooling issues affecting quality.
• Supporting the introduction of new mould tools and their ongoing improvement.
• Sharing knowledge with less experienced colleagues and apprentices.
