Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking a Tool Design Engineer to deliver practical tool designs and innovative modelling solutions. The role requires translating 3D concepts into precise 2D/3D definitions, with CREO experience and rigorous drawings standards.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, manage project timelines, and re-engineer existing tooling with attention to detail. The position offers a 2-day on-site minimum in Greater Manchester with remote work optional based on workload.

Qualifications

• Ideally HNC/HND qualified with significant experience in Tool Design and Definition.
• Significant experience in 3D modelling and ability to assess 3D models for quality; CREO preferred.
• Translate design intent from 3D models into high quality 2D/3D definitions (CREO preferred).
• Strong background in production of engineering drawings with high attention to detail.
• Knowledge of BS8888 Technical product documentation and specification, ISO 1101 Geometrical product specifications, ISO 5459 Datum and datum systems and similar standards and GD&T.

Tool Design Engineer

50ph umbrella (inside IR35) 2 days min on site, the rest remote (workload dependent) Compressed working week available 6 Months rolling

The Tool Design Team is at the heart of a rapidly evolving and high demand sector, delivering smart, adaptable tooling solutions across a wide range of aerospace projects.

• Manage your own project timelines and priorities ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

Skillset/experience required

• Ideally HNC/HND qualified with significant experience in Tool Design and Definition
• Must have a significant amount of 3D modelling experience and be able to assess 3D models for their quality. Experience in 3D annotations would be a distinct advantage (preferably CREO)
• Ability to translate design intent from 3D models into high quality 2D/3D definitions (preferably CREO)
• Strong background in the production of engineering drawings with high attention to detail
• Knowledge of BS8888 Technical product documentation and specification, ISO 1101 Geometrical product specifications, ISO 5459 Datum and datum systems and similar standards and GD & T
• Great communication skills with the drive and initiative to influence a network of stakeholders
