Job summary

Jewson in Bedford is hiring a Tool Hire Assistant to support daily tool hire operations and deliver orders from the branch at MK41 9RT. You will drive a 3.5 tonne van with a trailer to deliver and collect customer orders, with a full UK driving licence required.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday 7.30am–5pm, and every other Saturday 8am–12pm, with a hybrid working model and opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities and deploy resources for safe, efficient operations.
• Build strong customer relationships through regular interaction and cross-selling.
• Provide guidance to teammates and support their development and customer experience.
• Deliver and collect orders promptly; ensure equipment is secured and loaded safely.
• Support colleagues in building knowledge of tool hire products.
• Maintain tool hire standards consistently.
• Monitor inventory and availability to meet customer needs across the local network.
