Job summary

Harlow Bros is seeking a Timber Yard Assistant to join our team in Long Whatton. Based in the branch, you will assist with issuing goods, picking orders, and timber cutting, while progressing with our specialist machinery and processes under supervision.

You will provide friendly, professional service to customers on site and at delivery destinations, ensuring accurate processing and timely delivery. A UK driving license is desirable, safety is a priority, and in-house training is offered.

Qualifications

• UK driving license preferred but not essential.
• Ability to identify and locate products quickly and accurately.
• Courteous and professional approach to customers.
• Ability to self-motivate, organise, and execute tasks.
• Commitment to working safely and cleanly.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, polite, helpful, professional service to customers in branch and at delivery destinations.
• Greeting and serving customers on the yard and at the trade counter.
• Identify, pick, process, and issue goods accurately and to deadlines.
• Manual rack filling with timber and sheet materials.
• Housekeeping of warehouses and yard.
• Carry out local area deliveries by pickup truck.
