Job summary

The Timber Group in Herringswell is seeking a proactive Specialist Salesperson to grow our local customer base and maximise every sales opportunity. You’ll build trusted relationships with trade customers, understand timber needs, and provide the right advice, pricing and product solutions.

You’ll follow up quotes, develop accounts and work with the wider team to turn enquiries into long-term, profitable customer relationships, supported by on-the-job training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to handle sales enquiries and discuss customer requirements.
• Proactive approach to following up quotes and developing business.
• Attention to detail when preparing quotes, orders and customer information.
• Teamwork in a busy branch environment.
• Experience in timber/building materials is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships with trade, commercial and retail customers.
• Identify sales opportunities and follow up enquiries, quotes and leads.
• Provide specialist product advice on timber, sheet materials and related products.
• Prepare accurate quotes and process customer orders in line with procedures.
• Liaise with branch, yard and sawmill colleagues to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Support branch sales performance by delivering excellent service and helping customers choose the best solution.
