Job summary

Noble Recruiting in Maldon seeks an Environmental Compliance Manager to lead a small team and drive environmental improvements across the company. The role requires knowledge of UKTR, EUDR and timber certification schemes, plus experience in timber trade supply chains.

The successful candidate will liaise with staff, suppliers, NGOs and government, report to the Board, and travel domestically. This is a full-time on-site position based in Maldon, Essex.

Qualifications

• Passion to drive change in timber/environmental compliance.
• Strong and recent background in the timber industry.
• Knowledge of UKTR, EUDR, SFM, TPP, FSC UK, PEFC and timber certification.
• Experience in timber trade supply chain or forest management.
• Ability to liaise with boards and external committees.
• Experience with marketing, training material and communications content.
• Auditing and training skills.
• Strong influencing skills.
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage corporate environmental compliance and purchasing governance with the management and purchasing team.
• Ensure all processes comply with FSC UK, UKTR, EUDR, Construction Products Regulation and Modern Slavery Act.
• Maintain a robust due diligence system, assess and audit suppliers, coordinate with external service providers.
• Act as a key contact for legal compliance queries internally and externally.
• Report to government bodies, certification schemes and trade associations.
• Monitor progress and report to the Board of Directors.
• Represent the company at external committees and industry initiatives.
• Develop internal training materials and external communications in collaboration with relevant providers.
• Coordinate with the Quality Manager to integrate environmental compliance into procedures.
