You will bring expertise in timber legality and certification, timber trade supply chain experience, strong auditing and training skills, and a passion for driving change and sustainability.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with management to manage environmental compliance and governance.
• Ensure processes comply with UK Timber Regulation, Construction Products Regulation, Modern Slavery Act, and EUDR Compliance.
• Maintain due diligence system, assess and audit suppliers, coordinate with external providers.
• Serve as a point of contact for legal compliance queries, internal and external.
• Report to government enforcement bodies, certification schemes, and trade associations.
• Monitor progress and report to the Board of Directors.
• Represent the company at external committees and support industry improvements.
• Develop training materials and coordinate with external service providers.
• Work with the Quality Manager to incorporate environmental compliance into procedures.

We are working on behalf of a client seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to join our team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this pivotal role involves driving environmental improvements across the company, managing a small team, and engaging with various stakeholders including suppliers, customers, NGOs, and government bodies. The role also requires some foreign travel.

Day–to–day of the role:

• Collaborate with the management and purchasing team to manage corporate environmental compliance and purchasing governance.
• Ensure all processes comply with the UK Timber Regulation, Construction Products Regulation, Modern Slavery Act, and EUDR Compliance.
• Maintain a robust due diligence system to ensure compliance with the UK Timber Regulation, including assessing and auditing suppliers, and coordinating with external service providers.
• Serve as a key point of contact for any legal compliance queries, both internal and external.
• Report to government enforcement bodies, certification schemes, and trade associations.
• Monitor progress and report to the Board of Directors.
• Represent the company at external committees, supporting wider industry improvements.
• Develop internal training materials, marketing, and communication content and coordinate with relevant external service providers.
• Work with the Quality Manager to ensure environmental compliance is successfully incorporated into company procedures.
