Interaction Recruitment Group is representing a busy sheet metal manufacturing business in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. They seek an experienced TIG Welder / Fabricator for a genuine temp-to-perm role, with on-site duties and a pay rate of £16.00–£18.00 per hour depending on experience.

The role focuses on TIG welding and fabricating sheet metal components to high quality specifications, reading engineering drawings and maintaining safety and efficiency within the production team.

Qualifications

TIG Welder / Fabricator - Temp to Perm

Location: Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire

Pay: £16.00 - £18.00 per hour, depending on experience

Our client, an established sheet metal manufacturing company based in Letchworth Garden City, is currently looking for an experienced TIG Welder / Fabricator to join their busy production team.

This is a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity for a skilled TIG Welder with fabrication experience who is looking for a long-term position with the opportunity to become permanent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for TIG welding and fabricating sheet metal components to a high standard, ensuring all work meets the required quality and specification standards.

Duties Will Include

• TIG welding sheet metal components to a high standard


• Fabricating and assembling metal components from engineering drawings


• Preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding and finishing


• Working with a variety of sheet metal materials and thicknesses


• Using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment


• Measuring, marking out and checking components for accuracy


• Producing neat, accurate and high-quality welds


• Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards


• Fettling, polishing and finishing welded components when required


• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment


• Following health & safety procedures at all times


• Working closely with the production team to meet deadlines

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous TIG welding experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment


• Good fabrication and metalworking skills


• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings


• Confident using hand tools, grinders and fabrication equipment


• Experience working with thin-gauge sheet metal would be advantageous


• Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work


• Reliable, hardworking and punctual


• Able to work independently and as part of a team


• MIG welding experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Hours & Pay

Full-time, Temp to Perm

£16.00 - £18.00 per hour, depending on experience.
