Qualifications

MIG Welder - Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

Location: Huddersfield / Holmfirth, West Yorkshire

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am - 4:45pm

Overtime: Available

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder to join a well-established and highly respected engineering and manufacturing business based in the Huddersfield area.

The company has been established for decades and operates from a substantial modern manufacturing facility, providing sheet metal design, fabrication and engineering services to customers across a wide range of sectors.

Due to continued demand and growth, they are looking to add a skilled MIG Welder to their experienced production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a welder looking for long-term, stable employment within a modern manufacturing environment, with the opportunity to work on a varied range of products and projects.

The Role

As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welded components and fabricated assemblies to customer specifications and engineering drawings.

Your duties will include:

• MIG welding mild steel and sheet metal components.
• Working from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Tack welding, fabrication and assembly of components.
• Producing consistent, high-quality welds to required standards.
• Preparing materials and components prior to welding.
• Inspecting your own work and maintaining high quality standards.
• Using workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
• Working alongside other members of the fabrication and production teams.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Following company health & safety procedures and production requirements.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a MIG Welder within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Good practical MIG welding skills.
• Experience welding mild steel and sheet metal.
• The ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
• A reliable and hardworking attitude.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good awareness of health and safety within a workshop environment.

Experience of TIG welding, fabrication or working with different welding processes would be advantageous, although MIG welding experience is the key requirement.
