Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is assisting a busy Letchworth Garden City sheet metal manufacturer to recruit a TIG Welder/Fabricator for a temp-to-perm role. Expect TIG welding and fabrication of sheet metal parts, following drawings, with weekly pay and on-site parking.

The position offers long-term security for a skilled candidate. You will read engineering drawings, prepare materials, and produce high-quality welds while maintaining a safe, tidy workstation and collaborating with the production

Qualifications

• Previous TIG welding experience within a sheet metal or fabrication environment.
• Good fabrication and metalworking skills.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Confident using hand tools, grinders and fabrication equipment.
• Experience working with thin-gauge sheet metal would be advantageous.
• Good attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
• Reliable, hardworking and punctual.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• MIG welding experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• TIG welding sheet metal components to a high standard.
• Fabricating and assembling metal components from engineering drawings.
• Preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding and finishing.
• Working with a variety of sheet metal materials and thicknesses.
• Using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment.
• Measuring, marking out and checking components for accuracy.
• Producing neat, accurate and high-quality welds.
• Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Fettling, polishing and finishing welded components when required.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Following health & safety procedures at all times.
• Working closely with the production team to meet deadlines.

Location: Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire
Pay: £16.00 – £18.00 per hour, depending on experience

Our client, an established sheet metal manufacturing company based in Letchworth Garden City, is currently looking for an experienced TIG Welder / Fabricator to join their busy production team.

This is a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity for a skilled TIG Welder with fabrication experience who is looking for a long-term position with the opportunity to become permanent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for TIG welding and fabricating sheet metal components to a high standard, ensuring all work meets the required quality and specification standards.

Duties Will Include:

• TIG welding sheet metal components to a high standard

• Fabricating and assembling metal components from engineering drawings

• Preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding and finishing
