Job summary

Pertemps Redditch Industrial is recruiting a skilled TIG Welder for a leading fabrication and engineering company in Alcester. This full-time role pays £36,500 to £42,500 per annum and involves high-precision TIG welding on stainless steel and exotic alloys including Inconel and Titanium, with material thicknesses from 0.5mm to 1.2mm.

Qualifications

• 2 years TIG welding experience with exotic materials.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and heat control.
• Ability to pass a practical on-site welding test.

Overview

The TIG Welder will perform high-precision welding on stainless steel and exotic alloys, reading engineering drawings and weld symbols, and ensuring clean welds through appropriate back-purging techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel and exotic metals.
• Set up back-purging to ensure clean welds.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Prepare metal parts by cleaning, cutting, and fitting before welding.
• Inspect welds for defects such as cracks or gaps and ensure they meet quality standards.

Requirements

• Experience: 2 years of TIG welding experience with exotic materials.
• Skills: Excellent hand-eye coordination and heat control.
• Testing: Ability to pass a practical on-site welding test.
• Safety: Strong understanding of workshop safety and PPE.

Details

• Location: Alcester (commutable from Redditch, Studley, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Stratford-upon-Avon, Worcester).
• Shifts: Days – 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 12:30pm Friday; Nights – 4:30pm to 2:30am Monday to Wednesday and 4:30pm to 1:30am Thursday.
• Salary: £36,500 to £42,500 per annum.
