Job summary

Powys County Council is recruiting a Support Worker in the Through Care team in Llandrindod Wells. You will work with young people aged 14-18 who are in care, alongside social workers to support Care Plans and Pathway Plans.

This part-time, temporary role offers a hybrid pattern (1 day remote). An Enhanced DBS check is required, and you will help with life story work, contact arrangements, and recording progress to keep placements stable.

Qualifications

• Dedicated to listening to children and making them feel valued.
• Calm nature when dealing with young people in crisis.
• Skilled in time management and good record keeping.
• Able to work in a team and handle cases with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Undertake direct work with 14–18 year olds and their carers, including targeted work.
• Possibly conduct Life Story work to help young people understand their journey.
• Work alongside social workers and maintain case notes and progress.
