Job summary

Christ Church CE Primary School invites applications for a Communication and Interaction Teacher to join our Thrive Resource Provision. This fixed-term post supports children aged 4-11 with SLCN/ASC, in a calm, inclusive environment designed to empower every child to find their voice.

The role is a maternity cover for two terms, full-time (1 FTE), with MPS terms. The school offers a supportive team, professional development, and a commitment to wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Specialist communication pedagogy to create total-communication environments.
• Implement language and regulation strategies (Attention Autism, Zones of Regulation, Visual Timetables, Core Vocabulary).
• Nurture neurodivergent learners with understanding of sensory processing differences.
• Lead and deploy classroom teams of teaching assistants.
• Promote inclusive mainstream participation and belonging.

Responsibilities

• Teach within Thrive Resource Provision for SLCN/ASC learners.
• Collaborate with SLT and TA teams to plan individual targets.
• Foster a calm, supportive, low-arousal classroom environment.
• Contribute to professional development and school improvement.
