Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Cloudforce One, our threat operations and research team. You will own the full software lifecycle, delivering scalable systems that power threat disruption and legal response efforts.

You will write robust Go and TypeScript services, while collaborating on Rust, Kafka, Kubernetes, Redis, and PostgreSQL-based pipelines. You’ll mentor teammates and help scale trusted security solutions across customers.

Qualifications

• Expertise in writing well tested code.
• Familiarity with Rust.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and agentic AI workflows.
• Interest in opportunities to be a technical mentor for teammates.
• Prior experience writing production ready code in Go and/or Typescript.
• At least 5 years of experience building large-scale software applications, preferably distributed systems.
• Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services.
• Knowledge of SQL and common relational database systems such as PostgreSQL.
• Prior experience working in the Trust & Safety and Legal domain space.
• Deep understanding of DNS, TLS/SSL and HTTP.
• Experience with Kafka.
• Expertise in web security issues and industry standards for access control.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience building web applications using React.
• Experience with Redis.

Responsibilities

• Own the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Translate complex legal and security requirements into robust, scalable applications.
• Design, build, run, and scale distributed tools and services for threat disruption and Legal Response.
• Develop data pipelines and services to expose threat intelligence data for analysts and customers.
• Extend and maintain Trust & Safety and legal compliance pipelines (e.g., CSAM Scanning Tool).
• Collaborate with Threat Operations, Trust & Safety, Legal, and Product teams to translate goals into scalable solutions.
• Improve system design for stability, performance, and maintainability of internal and customer-facing services.
• Analyze, communicate, and prioritize complex technical concepts across teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations and mentor junior developers.
