Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Application Security in London. You will design and implement scalable security-focused systems using Go or Rust, review RFCs, and contribute across engineering teams.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on development, proficiency in Go or Rust, and experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Salt or Systemd. A hybrid workplace is offered with two days in the office.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Proficiency in Go or Rust with distributed systems exposure.
• Experience with devops tooling and Linux/Unix fundamentals.
• Experience working with distributed systems at scale.
• Cyber security experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design systems and write code following industry best practices.
• Deploy and maintain live services at scale (high request rate).
• Take regular on-call shifts as part of the team.
• Mentor other engineers and share knowledge.
• Stay updated on security risks impacting web apps and Cloudflare products.
