Job Title: Third Line Support Engineer

Are you experienced in 3rd line support and interested in supporting networking solutions within the Aerospace and Defence sector? If so, this opportunity might be right for you.

My client is a market leader in the Defence sector, looking to expand their IT team within Defence Systems. This is an exciting time to join a company with aggressive growth plans and a strong long-term vision.

This role can be based at their sites in Hawthorn, Tewksbury, or Oakhanger, Hampshire.

Role Overview

As a Third Line Support Engineer, you will provide advanced support to the network, including fault investigations, upgrades, and enhancements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include providing expertise in the design and implementation of IP networks and knowledge of satellite communications systems.

Responsibilities

1. Respond to customer faults and network incidents.
2. Manage the installation and configuration of new system components.
3. Test and commission new equipment and services.
4. Ensure new services and systems meet UK security standards.
5. Manage obsolescence within existing systems to maintain supportability and security compliance.
6. Provide third line support to operations teams.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in designing and delivering IP communication networks, ideally with Cisco accreditation.
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of satellite communications technology (desirable).
• Previous experience in a telecoms or satellite communications company (desirable).
