Job summary

Vertiv is seeking skilled Cooling Engineers to oversee and maintain data centre cooling systems in the Southeast region of England. The role involves inspecting equipment, reading schematics, and collaborating with a Field Delivery Manager to support upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Maintain cooling systems tailored for data centre environments with safety/operational standards.
  • Regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and extend lifespan.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues in cooling units, pumps, and related infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and system diagrams to guide repairs and modifications.

Job description

Vertiv is seeking skilled Cooling Engineers in the Southeast region of England to oversee and maintain cooling systems within our customers data centre facilities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal equipment performance through regular maintenance, repairs, and enhancement activities. The role requires strong ownership and is critical to infrastructure.,

  • Maintain cooling systems tailored for data centre environments, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on cooling equipment to minimise downtime and extend lifespan.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues related to air conditioning units, chillers, pumps, and associated infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and system diagrams to facilitate accurate repairs and modifications.
  • Operate as part of a maintenance team during system upgrades or construction projects, providing technical guidance and oversight.
  • Monitor system performance.
  • Maintain detailed digital records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications for compliance and future reference. We require a thorough understanding of thermodynamic principles and electrical circuits, supported by extensive product training. Field support is provided by a Field Delivery Manager. This role offers an exciting career path for professionals with a background in mechanical cooling systems, air conditioning, and construction., NVQ Level 2 or higher in Refrigeration and Air conditioning, or similar relevant qualification.
  • Proven experience in mechanical cooling engineering with a focus on air conditioning and/or data centre cooling solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and system layouts related to cooling infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in equipment repair, troubleshooting complex mechanical and control issues efficiently.
