Job summary

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust in London is seeking a Therapy Assistant Practitioner for Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy within our Community Stroke Team. This 2-year fixed-term post is part-time (22.5 hours per week) and based at Honor Oak Health Centre, SE4 2LA, to help deliver stroke specialist services and launch the Life After Stroke group.

You will provide therapy interventions in patients' homes and community settings, support admin, attend MDT meetings,

Qualifications

• BTEC or HND or NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in relevant subject.
• CSP
• Undertaken relevant healthcare courses

Responsibilities

• Undertake all aspects of clinical and care duties under supervision of a therapist.
• Carry a full caseload of patients under supervision of a therapist.
• Assess and provide for equipment needs.
• Progress patients in their homes to maximise function and independence.
• Provide information, teaching and instruction to relatives, carers, colleagues and agencies.
