Job summary

Witherslack Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a qualified counsellor to support children and young people in our CSE-focused homes. You will assess mental health, provide individualised interventions, and collaborate with education and residential staff to create therapeutic living and learning environments.

The role is based across two children’s homes, four days per week, with a salary of £43,453 - £52,493 plus excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified professional or accredited Counsellor with eligibility for BACP membership.
• Strong ability to connect with young people and understand child development.
• Well organized and proactive, with honesty and empathy as core values.

Responsibilities

This role is based at across 2x of our CSE children's homes, 4-days-per-week. Knowledge of sexual trauma including CSE would be desirable.

Our clinicians are a crucial part of the most joined-up model in SEND. Across all of our specialist schools and children’s homes, we provide unrivalled levels of clinical support, both in terms of our expertise andbreadth of provision. Our young people present with a complexity of need including developmental trauma, neuro-developmental conditions and special educational needs.

As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team you will be supporting educational and residential colleagues to provide therapeutic living and learning environments and, based on clinical assessment and formulation, offer individualised interventions and engagement to our young people. You’ll also be assessing our young people’s mental health and recommend appropriate interventions in a personalised care plan. Building rapport is key, by doing this you’ll be able to deliver effective counselling and feedback on progress.

• As a qualified professional (or accredited Counsellor), you’ll be eligible for membership of BACP, or a similar professional body (additional mental health or therapeutic intervention qualifications would be desirable)
