Job summary

Compass Community Schools are recruiting Teaching Assistants to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other SEND such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. We provide extensive therapeutic training and a trauma- and attachment-informed environment.

As a TA you will work 1:1 or with small groups, manage classroom resources, accompany educational trips, share lunch with pupils, and help develop their English and Maths alongside a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups
• Manage classroom resources
• Take children on educational trips and visits
• Have lunch with children who struggle socially
• Have a good basic understanding of English and Maths
• Keep children safe with strong behaviour management and communication
• Create, play and teach games to develop social skills
• Create amazing displays to support teaching and the learning environment
• Participate in therapeutic training sessions and reflect on difficult periods
