Job summary

Greenleaf House in Biggar, South Lanarkshire, is recruiting for a full-time role delivering therapeutic care to young people in a residential setting. You will work 14-hour shifts followed by a 10-hour sleepover, with a 2-on/3-off pattern, and participate in safeguarding, training, and development while supporting young people 24/7.

The ideal candidate has experience in residential care, a full UK driving licence, and a compassionate, patient, and therapeutic approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in a residential children’s home or similar setting.
• Ability to work shifts, including sleepovers and weekends.
• Full UK manual driving licence and car insurance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to children and young people in line with policies and a therapeutic approach.
• Contribute to assessment and delivery of support programmes.
• Attend planning meetings and maintain key person system.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping per policies.
• Work within a shift system including sleepovers.
• Participate in mandatory training and ongoing professional development.
• Implement de-escalation and crisis intervention when needed.
• Promote participation, structure, boundaries and routine.
• Comply with safeguarding and reporting processes.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
