Job summary

Fledglings Child Care is seeking a Residential Care Worker in Manchester to join a team supporting young people aged 8-17 with attachment and complex needs. You will provide advice, assist with daily living, and work with families and professionals to safeguard welfare; you report to the home manager.

The role requires Level 3 in Residential Child Care or equivalent and a driving licence. We offer contracted hours of 40 per week with potential overtime and a range of employee benefits including

Qualifications

• Level 3 or above in Residential Child Care (Desired)
• Secondary Education with good standard of literacy and numeracy
• Current manual driving licence, required due to the nature of job role.
• Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure and provide satisfactory references.
• DBS Disclosure expense will be met by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, assistance, and support to young people, safeguarding their welfare always.
• Attend to their practical, physical, and emotional needs with a therapeutic approach.
• Act as an appropriate role model and to work closely with them to enable them to address their difficulties and achieve their optimum potential.
• Undertake direct work with young people and acting as an appropriate role model.
• Work in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
• Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.
• Ensure the home is safe and to provide a pleasant quality environment for the children
• Promote independence and enabling young people to live a fulfilling life.
• Ensure the assessed needs of young people in the home are met on a day-to-day basis
• Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking
