Job summary

Family Care Group in Manchester, ENG, GB, is seeking a Residential Childcare Worker for a full-time on-site role. You will deliver daily care, emotional support and activities within a Therapeutic Model, working closely with our in-house practitioners to help young people grow in a safe environment.

• Experience working with children, young people or adults with learning disabilities.
• NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards.
• Empathetic, patient, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A calm and proactive approach to challenges.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with a range of learning disabilities in their everyday routines.
• Promote independence and participation in household and community activities.
• Help manage personal care needs where required, with dignity and respect.
• Build trusting relationships and provide emotional support.
• Follow individual care plans and contribute to their development.
• Work as part of a consistent care team, including sleeping-in and shift/rota work (weekends).
• Maintain detailed and accurate records.
