Job summary

The Tiger Group Consultancy Ltd is seeking a dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join a residential home in Maylandsea, Essex. The role supports children aged 5–16 with trauma or emotional/behavioural challenges, providing a stable, nurturing environment where every child can feel safe and develop new skills.

You will work across daily life activities, helping children navigate challenges, celebrate achievements and build the confidence to move forward.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally within a residential setting.
• Compassionate, patient and understanding approach.
• Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills and safeguarding understanding.
• Willingness to learn, develop and embrace ongoing training.
• Full UK driving licence (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with young people and act as a consistent, positive role model.
• Provide individualised care and support each child’s needs.
• Assist with daily routines, personal development and recreational activities.
• Encourage healthy choices and emotional resilience.
