Job summary

The Esland Group Ltd in Buxton is seeking a qualified Children's Home Deputy Manager to lead our Assessments Team at Peak View. This permanent, full-time role offers a structured environment, a 9am–5pm schedule on weekdays, and hands-on responsibility for delivering safe, therapeutic care to young people aged 7 to 18.

Candidates will have at least 2 years in children's residential care, 1 year in staff supervision, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, and strong knowledge of Ofsted

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a children's residential care home (within the last 5 years).
• At least 1 year in a role requiring supervision and management of staff in a care setting.
• Level 3 Diploma (or above) in Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of Ofsted regulations and expectations, relevant legislation and Quality Standards.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• A full UK driving licence issued in the UK.
• Right to work in the UK with no restrictions.
• Candidates must be over the age of 21 to meet industry regulations.
• Outdoor activities experience/qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise staff within the children's home.
• Provide high-quality, therapeutic residential care for 7–18 year-olds.
• Coordinate with the Assessments Team to support short-term placements.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, regulations and quality standards.
• Promote equal opportunities and manage day-to-day operations.
