Job description

We are looking for a Theatre Support Worker to join our General Surgery Team

Our department is fast-paced and dynamic, with no two days the same. After completing a 4-week Healthcare Support Worker Academy, you will undergo extensive training in the department during a supernumerary period, supported by our two in-house clinical educators. You will also work on a theatre skills book to ensure the best possible care for our patients.

Please Note

You must be able to attend our 4-week, full-time HCSW Academy when you start working for our Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the collection and preparation of patients before surgery, acting as their advocate in theatre.
• Monitor patients before surgery.
• Assist with setting up sterile equipment and maintaining it as a theatre runner.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow cleaning protocols.
• Set up and maintain theatre equipment.
• Manage stock levels within the theatre.
• Handle tissue samples and document them correctly.
• Handle sensitive information appropriately.
