NHS Scotland is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker to join the operating theatres team within NHS Tayside. You will support Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners in caring for patients undergoing surgical procedures, with full training provided.
You will work in a full-time role (36 hours) with a day/night rotation and on-call commitments where required, and you will follow the national standards for induction and conduct for healthcare support workers in Scotland.

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the multidisciplinary team within the operating theatres of NHS Tayside. The successful applicant may be required to vary their workplace within the area covered by NHS Tayside, as required.
You will play an important part in the patient's journey, working within the operating theatres and assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) & Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) in the care and treatment of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Health care experience would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team are essential qualities for this post.
You will be expected to comply with the national Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland (2009) and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers (2009) for this post.
Hours of work are: Full time (36 hours) with a commitment to day / night rotation and on call if required by clinical area.
