NHS National Services Scotland seeks a capable administrator to support waiting lists and theatre activity in the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. The role covers cross-cover within the team and requires professional communication with patients and staff.
Applicants should have experience with waiting lists in healthcare, and strong skills in Excel and Word. Knowledge of TrakCare would be advantageous.

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join our team to provide a key role in supporting the management of our waiting lists, theatre activity and related matters within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department. The postholder will be based in Ninewells hospital and will be expected to cross cover for others within the team.
You should have proven experience working in a team with an understanding of waiting lists ideally in a healthcare setting. You should possess excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills. The use of software such as Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word is an important part of the day to day work. You will need to be a flexible individual with the ability to work on your own and as part of a team. Knowledge of NHS Tayside Access Policy and Waiting Times Guidance and experience of Trakcare booking and managing waiting lists would be advantageous.
The role requires the postholder to communicate in a professional manner with patients, their families and many different groups of hospital staff. This post can, at times, be pressurised therefore the ideal candidate would enjoy working in a challenging fast paced environment.
