Job summary

Circle Health Group’s Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield is hiring a Theatre Practitioner for 37.5 hours per week, with a permanent contract. Salary is up to £37,000 per year, dependent on experience, training and qualification.

The role involves assisting the surgical team, maintaining sterility, and providing patient care across scrub, anaesthetic or recovery areas. A flexible shift pattern is required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or ODP (HCPC) registration.
• Experience or training in a theatre environment (scrub, anaesthetics or recovery).
• Knowledge of infection prevention and patient safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility for theatre cases.
• Assist anaesthetist with equipment prep, patient monitoring and positioning.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient needs.
• Support safe surgical lists through teamwork and communication.
