Job summary

Circle Health Group’s Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield is seeking a Theatre Practitioner for a full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week role. The post offers a salary up to £37,000 per year, dependent on experience, training, and qualifications, with an emphasis on scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery work.

You will join a team dedicated to safe surgical care within a nationwide private healthcare network, with opportunities for professional development and flexible shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in a theatre environment specialising in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.
• Strong infection control, manual handling and patient safety knowledge.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and safe surgical practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility and supporting the anaesthetist.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check all surgical and anaesthetic equipment and report faults.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient lists.
• Contribute to a positive, respectful theatre environment.
