Job summary

The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join the recovery team on a 30-hour-per-week basis. The role is permanent and involves flexible shift patterns within the theatre department.

Ideal candidates will be registered with NMC or HCPC and have theatre experience in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery, with strong infection control and patient safety understanding. The employer offers extensive benefits and professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
• Experience or training in a theatre environment specialising in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility and equipment safety.
• Support anaesthetist with equipment prep, monitoring, airway management and patient positioning.
• Provide post-operative care, monitor vital signs and manage pain and nausea.
• Ensure infection prevention and control policies are followed.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Report faults and work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe lists.
