Job summary

Bishops Wood Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Theatre Practitioner - Recovery for a full-time role in the theatres department. The position covers 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern at a leading private hospital network.

Responsibilities include assisting the surgical team, supporting the anaesthetist, maintaining sterility, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative period. Comprehensive benefits and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly.
• Understanding of infection control and patient safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility and equipment safety.
• Support the Anaesthetist in equipment prep, patient monitoring, and positioning; post-operative care and discharge readiness.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control policies at all times.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use and report faults.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve safe, efficient theatre lists.
• Support a positive, respectful and efficient theatre environment.
