The Park Hospital in Nottingham, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Theatre Practitioner for bank shifts. You will join the theatre team to supplement staffing during busy periods and cover staff on leave or absence.

Role involves assisting the surgical team, supporting the anaesthetist, and providing post-operative care while upholding infection control and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or HCPC-registered professional.
• Experience or training in a theatre environment (scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery).
• Understanding of infection control, manual handling, and patient safety principles.
• Ability to work under pressure, problem-solve, and respond quickly to changes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe surgical practice.

Responsabilités

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility for the surgical team.
• Assist anaesthetist with equipment prep, patient monitoring, airway management, and positioning.
• Provide post-operative care, monitor vitals, manage pain and nausea, and discharge readiness.
• Adhere to infection prevention policies and procedures at all times.
• Set up operating theatres per surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check surgical and anaesthetic equipment before use and report faults.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for safe, efficient surgical lists.
• Support a positive, respectful and efficient theatre environment.
