Job summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Exeter is seeking a Clinical Patient Flow Co-ordinator (Internal Only) to maintain the theatre schedule across main theatres, PEOC, CWH, WEEU and five community theatres.

The role requires theatre experience, calm handling of challenging conversations within a multi-disciplinary team, and close liaison with senior theatre management to protect patient safety and optimise list utilisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a theatre environment with an understanding of clinical prioritisation.
• Ability to handle challenging conversations within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Awareness of patient safety and safe staffing principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and coordinate the theatre schedule across main and satellite theatres.
• Escalate issues around staffing, equipment, or overruns to minimise cancellations.
• Coordinate admissions to Knapp Ward and develop alternative plans during escalation.
• Support senior theatre leadership to ensure safe operations and patient flow.
