Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Hexham General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join the Orthopaedic and Anaesthetic teams within the elective theatre department. You will deliver high quality patient care, work closely with the MDT, and ensure equipment is maintained for safe procedures.

A supportive training package is available for newly qualified staff, and secondment guidelines apply where relevant.

Qualifications

• Previous theatre experience would be an advantage; comprehensive training is provided for newly qualified staff or those new to theatre.

Responsibilities

• Delivering high standards of care and supporting patients.
• Undertaking orthopaedic scrub or anaesthetic duties with safe practice.
• Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Maintaining and checking equipment.
• Supervising junior colleagues and trainees in theatre.
• Training provided for newly qualified staff or those new to theatre.
