Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Trainee Advanced Surgical Practitioner to join the team, assisting Consultants and Specialist Registrars across Orthopaedic, Elective, Trauma, and General Surgery procedures. The post may involve Trust-wide work across our sites.

You will supervise junior staff, provide nursing care, and handovers to the MDT. On-call cover may be required, and the role may involve working at multiple Trust sites including Northumbria Specialist Emergency

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Trainee Advanced Surgical Practitioner to join the team assisting a team of Consultants and Specialist Registrars across a range of Orthopaedic, Elective and Trauma procedures. As well as General Surgery procedures This position may require Trust wide working across our Trust sites including Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, Hexham General Hospital, Wansbeck General Hospital and North Tyneside General Hospital.,

• Supervision of junior members of staff, students and visitors.
• To provide nursing care to a caseload of patients and to provide verbal and written handovers to nursing colleagues and the multi disciplinary team.
• To provide on call cover as required to meet the needs of the service .
• May be required to work on other sites across the Trust. We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.
