Job summary

Mersey West Lancashire NHS Trust is seeking a Theatre Housekeeping Assistant to support the operating theatre team. You will work under supervision to maintain a clean, safe environment and assist with stock control and routine duties in the theatres.

The role requires flexibility, as it may be full or part time over six days a week (Mon–Sat). Experience in health care settings and a proactive, autonomous approach are desirable.

Qualifications

• GCSE level English and Maths required.
• Experience working in a health care setting.
• Ability to work autonomously as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team undertaking household support tasks.
• Accept responsibility for delegated functions within theatres suitable for untrained staff.
• Ensure health and safety of patients and staff at all times.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of patients at all times.
• Monitor and assist with stock levels in theatres for clinical and non-clinical items.
• Store theatre supplies and keep stocks at required levels as set by the materials management team.
• Check stock against delivery notes and report discrepancies.
• Ensure stock is rotated and theatre areas are clean and tidy.
