Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in Harlow, Essex is seeking a Theatre Orderly to support both clinical and non-clinical staff in maintaining patient flow and delivering a high standard of service. You will assist in stock management across theatres and the ADSU with no direct patient contact, ensuring consumables are available and records are up to date.

This role requires autonomy within a team and a commitment to patient safety and dignity, contributing to a positive patient

Qualifications

• GCSE Level or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is required or desirable.
• Experience dealing with the public.
• Experience handling stock and equipment.
• Desirable: experience using online electronic booking/ordering systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones at reception and direct relatives and visitors to appropriate staff.
• Order supplies and maintain stock levels in theatres and Alexandra day unit.
• Ensure efficient storage of department supplies and monitor expiries.
• Monitor ward equipment and raise repair requests as needed.
• Educate patients and visitors on health promotion and infection prevention.
• Promote teamwork and a positive working environment within the department.
