Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International, on behalf of a long‑standing client in the nonwovens sector, invites an experienced Textile Process Expert to Bridgwater, UK (relocation support). You will lead as a technical authority for key textile processes, collaborating with Production, Quality, Engineering and Innovation teams to drive process performance and manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in textile/nonwoven manufacturing environments.
• Deep knowledge of processes such as Opening/Blending/Carding; Binder application/Foam bonding; Drying; Slitting.

Responsibilities

• Act as the recognised technical specialist for an assigned textile process, supporting Production, Quality, Engineering, and Innovation teams.
• Provide practical guidance on process settings, materials, equipment performance, and product behaviour.
• Identify root causes and implement effective solutions to manufacturing and quality issues.
• Improve process stability, quality, yield, throughput, and OEE while reducing process variation.
• Establish and maintain best-practice operating methods and standards.
• Support the introduction of new products, materials, and processes into manufacturing.
• Identify process risks, limitations, and opportunities during trials and development work.
• Coach and develop operators, supervisors, and engineers, helping to build technical capability across the organisation.
• Support continuous improvement projects, equipment optimisation, commissioning, and process changes.
• Capture and share technical knowledge and lessons learned to establish sustainable best practice.
