Job summary

Bowmay Consulting is supporting an established textiles manufacturer in Cornwall in their search for a Textile Operative to join the production team. You will operate textile machinery across the production process, gaining hands-on experience with carding, combing, spinning and winding equipment.

This role suits someone with textile spinning, weaving or knitting experience or broad machinery exposure, who thrives in a fast-paced setting, is keen to learn, and is prepared to contribute to

Qualifications

• Experience in textile spinning, weaving or knitting would be advantageous.
• Previous textile manufacturing or machinery experience.
• Comfortable working with machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate textile machinery across the production process.
• Operate machinery including carding, combing, spinning and winding equipment.
• Prepare and process materials to the required specifications.
• Monitor yarn quality and identify faults or inconsistencies during production.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain production standards and product quality, assist packing and balling of finished yarn.
• Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery.
