Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience in textile/nonwoven manufacturing environments.
  • Deep knowledge of processes such as Opening/Blending/Carding; Binder application/Foam bonding; Drying; Slitting.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the recognised technical specialist for an assigned textile process, supporting Production, Quality, Engineering, and Innovation teams.
  • Provide practical guidance on process settings, materials, equipment performance, and product behaviour.
  • Identify root causes and implement effective solutions to manufacturing and quality issues.
  • Improve process stability, quality, yield, throughput, and OEE while reducing process variation.
  • Establish and maintain best-practice operating methods and standards.
  • Support the introduction of new products, materials, and processes into manufacturing.
  • Identify process risks, limitations, and opportunities during trials and development work.
  • Coach and develop operators, supervisors, and engineers, helping to build technical capability across the organisation.
  • Support continuous improvement projects, equipment optimisation, commissioning, and process changes.
  • Capture and share technical knowledge and lessons learned to establish sustainable best practice.

Textile Process Expert – Nonwovens Manufacturing

Location: Bridgwater, UK (relocation support)

Mackinnon Bruce, on behalf of a long-standing client, is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced textile manufacturing professional to join a leading organisation within the nonwovens industry as a Textile Process Expert.

As the organisation continues its ambitious growth journey, this role will play an important part in strengthening technical capability, manufacturing excellence, and continuous innovation. The successful candidate will bring significant hands‑on experience within textile, nonwoven, or related continuous manufacturing environments, providing specialist expertise to improve process performance, solve manufacturing challenges, and support the introduction of new products and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Profile

  • Significant hands‑on experience within textile, nonwoven, or related continuous manufacturing environments.
  • Deep practical knowledge of one or more relevant process areas, including Opening / Blending / Carding, Binder Application / Foam Bonding, Drying, Slitting, or Fine Slitting.
  • Proven experience solving manufacturing, quality, or process performance issues within a production environment.
  • Strong practical problem‑solving skills, combining technical experience, data, and sound judgement.
  • Ability to work effectively with operators, supervisors, engineers, and management to implement improvements and drive change.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or developing others within a technical or operational environment.
  • Experience introducing new products, materials, or processes into manufacturing.
  • A hands‑on, proactive approach with a strong focus on continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence.
